Addressing Veteran Needs
Veterans in Sahuarita, Arizona, have taken matters into their own hands by establishing a Disabled American Veterans (DAV) chapter to cater to their growing community’s needs. The chapter aims to assist veterans in filing claims for support programs.
Organizing for Support
Jeff McRoberts, Adjutant of the newly formed DAV Chapter 38, highlighted the necessity for such a chapter, given the significant veteran population in Sahuarita and Green Valley. With over 18,000 veterans in the area, the absence of a DAV chapter left a void in supporting veterans.
Providing Assistance
Ron Bryant, commander of Chapter 38, and his team of veteran service officers operate from the Sahuarita Food Bank, offering a comfortable space for veterans to seek assistance. Despite being in its early stages, the chapter is already witnessing a high demand for its services.
Meeting Community Needs
Brian Dorame, Vice Commander of Chapter 38, emphasized the vital role of the DAV chapter in meeting the needs of the community. As the chapter expands its services, it aims to provide comprehensive support to veterans in the Sahuarita area.
Serving Those Who Served
The establishment of the DAV chapter in Sahuarita reflects the commitment of veterans to support one another and address the challenges they face. With dedicated individuals like Ron Bryant and his team, veterans can access the assistance they deserve, ensuring they feel at home and supported in their community.
