Lawrence, Ind. – A dispute among high-school-aged individuals escalated into violence on Tuesday behind Harrison Hill Elementary School in Marion County, resulting in a juvenile male being shot.
Police Response and Victim’s Condition
Lawrence Police Department officers responded to the incident just after 4 p.m. at 7510 E. 53rd Street, the location of Harrison Hill Elementary School, following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a juvenile victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. Deputy Chief of Police Travis Cline confirmed that the victim was promptly transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition.

Several high-school-aged individuals suspected to be involved in the altercation have been apprehended by authorities. Preliminary investigations suggest that the shooting ensued from a disagreement among four juveniles, culminating in one of them brandishing a firearm and injuring the victim.
