Libertyville, Illinois – Libertyville police are actively searching for a man who allegedly brandished a handgun at a gas station employee before fleeing the scene. The unsettling incident unfolded at around 1:20 a.m. on Monday at a gas station located in the 2000 block of Shell Drive.

According to authorities, the man, described as suburban, had been inside the gas station restroom for over thirty minutes. Concerned, a gas station employee approached to check on him. However, before departing the premises, the individual reportedly pointed a black handgun at the employee.
Suspect’s Escape
After the confrontation, the man swiftly left the gas station, making his getaway in a silver SUV with tinted windows. The vehicle bore Wisconsin license plates and was last seen traveling northbound on US Highway 45. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident.
Ongoing Search
Despite concerted efforts by law enforcement, the suspect remains at large as of Wednesday. Authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault.
