Registration and Aid Disbursement Statistics
Since the January flooding, FEMA has been on the ground in San Diego. More than 6,100 flood victims have registered for aid, with $17.7 million already dispersed. Despite significant progress, FEMA emphasizes the ongoing need for outreach, particularly to new homeowners and renters who continue to sign up for assistance.
Recovery Progress and Challenges
While many flood victims have registered for aid, there are still challenges in the recovery process. According to a nonprofit organization assisting flood survivors, 70% to 80% of them have yet to begin the demolition process. FEMA underscores the importance of home inspections for receiving aid, reminding all impacted individuals to complete this step.
