COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early on Sunday morning in Morrow County, Ohio.

Details of the Accident

Authorities reported that an SUV was traveling in the wrong direction on I-71 in Morrow County, just before 3 a.m. on Sunday. Tragically, the SUV collided head-on with a car heading southbound. The impact caused both vehicles to overturn and catch fire.

The SUV’s driver, identified as 32-year-old Larry Dotson, and passenger, identified as 32-year-old Marlee Middleton, lost their lives at the scene. Shockingly, investigations revealed that neither occupant was wearing seat belts.

In the other vehicle, passengers 31-year-old Cristal Galloso Olvera and 50-year-old Ivonne Olvera also succumbed to their injuries from the crash. The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Ohio Health in Mansfield for treatment.

Investigation Ongoing

The authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. It remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the tragic incident.

The crash site has been cordoned off as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the collision.
