Three individuals, including two children, lost their lives in a devastating head-on collision on the 15 Freeway in San Bernardino County. The incident, which occurred just before 2 p.m. on March 30, has left the community mourning and authorities grappling with the aftermath.

Deadly Collision on Interstate 15

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the tragic accident unfolded when a Kia traveling south near Halloran Springs suddenly skidded out of control due to hydroplaning. The vehicle crossed all southbound lanes, traversed the dirt median, and collided head-on with a Mercedes SUV traveling northbound.

Victims of the Crash

The collision claimed the lives of two occupants in the Kia: a 13-year-old boy and a 43-year-old woman. Tragically, an 11-year-old boy in the Mercedes also succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Additionally, seven other individuals, ranging from 3 to 52 years old, were transported to nearby hospitals with moderate to severe injuries.

The stretch of Interstate 15 where the accident occurred is a popular route for travelers, particularly Angelenos en route to Las Vegas, highlighting the regional impact of the tragedy. As authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, the San Bernardino County Coroner identified one of the deceased as Alicia Ramos of Madera, while the identities of the two boys are yet to be disclosed.
