A Bloomington teenager, Nikolas Bridgewater, has been arrested following a shooting incident near a mobile home community, sparked by an argument on Snapchat.

Court documents filed in Monroe County on March 19 reveal that Bridgewater, aged 16, faces charges including attempted murder, aggravated battery, and criminal recklessness. The incident occurred on March 15, when law enforcement responded to a shooting at a mobile home community in Bloomington. A 14-year-old victim sustained two gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital.

Snapchat Argument and Confrontation

Juvenile witnesses informed the police that the altercation originated from an argument on Snapchat. The 14-year-old victim identified Bridgewater as the shooter. Allegedly, following the argument, Bridgewater and the victim agreed to meet near the mobile home community to settle their dispute. However, upon arrival, Bridgewater reportedly brandished a firearm and threatened the group, leading to the shooting.

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement officers recovered bullet casings and reviewed video footage from the scene.
