AUSTIN, Texas – Austin residents can expect a delightful Tuesday, characterized by bright skies and comfortable temperatures as we progress through the week. Today’s temperatures will be slightly cooler compared to yesterday, with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. A noticeable breeze will sweep across the region, courtesy of a northwest wind following last night’s cold front.
Wind speeds are anticipated to range between 10-15 mph, with occasional gusts reaching 20-25 mph. Looking ahead to the remainder of the week, expect seasonal temperatures and abundant sunshine, with highs hovering around the lower 80s accompanied by intermittent breeziness.
However, changes to the weather pattern are on the horizon starting Saturday, as clouds roll in ahead of a passing low-pressure system situated to the north of our area. This system’s associated cold front brings the possibility of isolated showers on Saturday evening, followed by increased rain chances by Sunday morning. Notably, this could impact events such as the Cap10k, prompting residents to stay vigilant and monitor forecast updates regularly.
The inclement weather may persist into Monday and Tuesday, as forecast models suggest a storm system bringing rain and clouds during this period. This raises concerns for the anticipated total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8; nevertheless, some computer models suggest the storm system might clear out in time to provide a clear viewing opportunity.
As we approach these weather shifts, continuous monitoring of the forecast remains essential in the days ahead.
Tuesday’s Weather Outlook:
- Morning: Mostly sunny, warm, and breezy with a northwest wind at 5 to 15 mph, gusting up to 25 mph. High temperatures expected to reach 77 degrees.
- Night: Clear and chilly, with a north wind at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. Low temperatures dipping to around 50 degrees.
