Albuquerque, New Mexico – The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is set to unveil a special exhibit commemorating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month. This temporary showcase aims to delve into the notable contributions, scientific breakthroughs, and influence of Asian American and Pacific Islander scientists and engineers.
Celebrating AAPI Achievements
The poster exhibition, housed within the museum’s Periodic Hall, will spotlight remarkable individuals such as microbiologist Yee Ching Wong-Staal, renowned for her groundbreaking work in AIDS research. Additionally, the exhibit will pay tribute to Ellison Onizuka, who made history as the first person of Japanese descent to journey into space.
Acknowledging Contributions
Jennifer Hayden, president and CEO of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, expressed her enthusiasm about the upcoming exhibit. She stated, “We are honored to highlight the achievements and contributions of these outstanding individuals. The contributions of these scientists enrich our nation, and we hope this exhibit will offer new inspirational role models for future generations.”
