Elgin, Ill. – The Elgin police department underwent HazMat protocol following the discovery of an unidentified substance within the department premises on Tuesday morning.
The substance was detected around 11 a.m. in a confined area within the department’s location at 151 Douglas Avenue, as confirmed by officials.
Elgin Fire Department Response
Upon the discovery, the Elgin Fire Department swiftly responded to the scene. By approximately 12:30 p.m., they determined the substance to be non-hazardous, providing relief to the concerned parties, as reported by CPD.
Resumption of Operations
Following the clearance by the Elgin Fire Department, the police station promptly resumed its regular operations.
