A crash on Interstate 65 in downtown Louisville resulted in the closure of all lanes near the Interstate 64 and Interstate 71 interchanges Friday morning, according to reports from WDRB.
Semi-Truck Involved in Single Vehicle Crash
The incident, reported by LMPD spokesperson John Bradley, involved a semi-truck in a single-vehicle crash around 1:00 a.m. on Friday.
Trailer Detaches from Semi
The semi-truck collided with the wall on the interstate, causing the trailer to detach from the vehicle. The portion of the trailer that separated flipped over the ramp and onto the road below.
Hot Dog Cargo Spills, Cleanup Ensues
The truck was transporting boxes of hot dogs, resulting in a significant mess on the interstate that required cleanup efforts. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of the crash, as confirmed by Bradley.
Ramps Reopened After Cleanup
Following the cleanup operation, which lasted several hours, the ramps were reopened around 8:30 a.m. on Friday to resume normal traffic flow.
