FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Police Department has arrested 26-year-old Domonique Jones in connection with the murder of 38-year-old Gilberto Gutierrez at Ewell’s Bar.

Incident Details

Police responded to a shooting at Ewell’s Bar, located at Shaw & Marks Avenues, just before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 14th. Upon arrival, they discovered Gutierrez outside the bar with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

Altercation Escalation

Initial investigations revealed that Gutierrez intervened in a dispute between his friend and another group outside the bar. The altercation escalated, resulting in Jones brandishing a handgun and fatally shooting Gutierrez.

Suspect Apprehended

Jones was apprehended on Friday following the incident and will face charges of murder. He is set to be booked into Fresno County Jail.
