An SUV collided with a police car in Indianapolis early Thursday morning while officers were transporting a prisoner.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Washington Street and North Emerson Avenue. An Indianapolis Metropolitan police officer had stopped at a red light when the SUV crashed into the back of the squad car.
