Carroll County, Georgia – Authorities have apprehended three individuals following a drug and gun-related investigation that culminated in a search warrant being executed at an apartment in the Venue at Carrollton Apartments complex earlier this month. The operation, part of a broader drug probe, uncovered a significant cache of illicit substances and firearms.

Search Warrant Unveils Drug and Weapon Cache

The search, stemming from a drug investigation connected to a shooting incident at The Foundry Apartments in Carrollton back in February, revealed alarming findings. While specifics regarding the shooting remain undisclosed, law enforcement officials disclosed that the search uncovered multiple pounds of marijuana, Oxycodone, promethazine, along with at least five firearms and a substantial amount of cash.

Among the firearms seized, authorities noted the presence of a gun outfitted with a modification allowing it to function as an automatic weapon.

Arrests Made in Connection to the Investigation

Following the search, authorities took three individuals into custody, each facing various charges related to the discovered contraband:

• Jhakil Murphy, 22: Charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during certain crimes.
• Joseph Thompson, 22: Facing charges including sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Oxycodone, and possession of a machine gun.
• Kaitlyn White, 21: Arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

All three suspects were transported to the Carroll County Jail, where they were subsequently released on bond pending further legal proceedings.
