Tahlequah, Okla. – Tahlequah Fire Department investigators have apprehended three individuals for their involvement in a string of arson incidents and vandalism of fire hydrants across three counties. Jacob Mills, 24, hailing from Cherokee County, Sebastian Ritter, 21, from Adair County, and a 17-year-old minor were taken into custody following a spree involving over 20 fires and the tampering of multiple fire hydrants, resulting in property damage and water loss to communities spanning Cherokee, Adair, and Sequoyah Counties.

During the investigation of two structure fires in eastern Cherokee County on April 21, the suspects were identified. Tahlequah Fire Chief Casey Baker revealed that the trio confessed to igniting five structure fires and numerous grass fires in Cherokee and Adair Counties.
