Amid ongoing housing issues, the Industrial Development Board (IDB) has greenlit $180 million in bonds for a new student housing apartment complex for Tennessee State University (TSU).
Cobblestone Village Residences: A New Development
The approved funds will fuel the construction of ‘Cobblestone Village Residences,’ a six-story complex situated across from the TSU campus. This development, spearheaded by Cobblestone Development, will consist of two buildings accommodating 155 units, totaling 719 beds.
Diverse Housing Options
The residence aims to cater to varying needs, offering a mix of floor plans. Among these plans, 30% will be 5-bed layouts, 50% 4-bed layouts, and 20% 3-bed layouts, spread across 280,000 square feet of space.
Timeline for Development
Construction is scheduled to commence in June 2024, with completion anticipated before the fall semester of 2026, providing much-needed housing solutions for TSU students.
