Delaware Animal Services, a division of the Office of Animal Welfare, recently carried out a rescue operation after receiving a call from Delaware State Police about a potential animal cruelty case. The officials discovered a distressing scene, with 66 dogs, 9 cats, and 1 bird living in conditions described as both cramped and unsanitary.
Inhumane Living Conditions Uncovered
Upon arrival, animal welfare officers found the animals living in cramped rooms covered in feces, urine, and filth. The 66 dogs, ranging from newborns to seniors, were not sterilized, leading to uncontrolled reproduction. The rescued animals were transported to the Brandywine Valley SPCA Animal Rescue Center in Georgetown, where they are currently undergoing medical care. According to Brandywine Valley SPCA CEO Adam Lamb, the organization’s team has been working tirelessly to provide necessary medical care and rehabilitation for the animals.
Disturbing Health Conditions
