Moser Fire
Near Cloudcroft, the Moser Fire erupted, consuming at least 145 acres since its start on Monday afternoon. With no containment achieved, authorities have closed Highway 82 from the upper junction of Highway 244 to Dry Canyon Road. Mandatory evacuations are in effect for residents residing in specific zones, with containment efforts nearing 80%.
The Cloudcroft Fire Department has issued a call for water and Gatorade donations to support firefighting efforts.
Five Bosque Fire
In Rio Rancho, a cluster of fires erupted along the bosque, earning the collective name Five Bosque Fire. Occurring in a mere eight-acre stretch between Rio Rancho North Beach and Willow Creek Park, these fires were determined to be human-caused and intentional. Despite the rapid response from fire crews, all bosque entrances remain closed with no timeline for reopening.
Rio Rancho Fire Chief James DeFillippo stated, It appears that they were set one right after the other but very quickly. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries or structural damages.
