A tragic incident occurred Thursday night on Highway 153 near milepost 14 in Yamhill County, resulting in the loss of a life. According to Oregon State Police (OSP), a fatal two-car crash claimed the life of Kevin McFadden, 57, of Salem.

The investigation revealed that a westbound Toyota Corolla, driven by Travis Byrley, 25, of Salem, veered into a ditch in an attempt to avoid a collision with an eastbound motorcycle that had encroached into the westbound lane. Unfortunately, the Toyota lost control and swerved back onto the roadway, colliding with McFadden’s Victory CR8 motorcycle.
Tragically, McFadden was pronounced dead at the scene, while Byrley sustained minor injuries.
