NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has expressed concern over a potential leak of information related to the Covenant School shooting case. Reports have surfaced online regarding the contents of journals belonging to the shooter, Audrey Hale.
Possible Information Leak
MNPD confirmed to NEWS.ORG 17 News their apprehension regarding a potential leak of additional journal entries. Sources familiar with the investigation revealed that Hale’s writings contained fantasies about school shootings, as well as reflections on mental health struggles and a desire for gender transition.
Previous Instances of Concern
This isn’t the first time concerns have been raised about the dissemination of Hale’s writings. Late last year, three images of the journals were shared by a podcaster, raising further alarm within the community.
We are concerned about the alleged leak, and we, like others, would like to know from where it came, MNPD stated. However, they reiterated that they remain part of an ongoing investigation and will not release the documents until the investigation is concluded.
Tragic Incident at Covenant School
The Covenant School tragedy occurred on March 27, 2023, when Hale, a former student, opened fire in the building, resulting in the loss of three young students and three staff members.
