Portland, Oregon – Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a motorcycle accident on Thursday night, discovered at the ramp from eastbound Morrison Bridge to northbound I-5, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).
Incident Details
Just after 8 p.m., officers were called to Southeast Water Avenue and Southeast Morrison Street where a motorcycle had crashed. The investigation revealed that the rider and a passenger were thrown over the barrier into a parking lot below. The crash prompted the closure of several key routes: the ramp from eastbound Morrison Bridge to northbound I-5, and Southeast Water Avenue between Southeast Yamhill Street and Southeast Alder Street.
Traffic Disruptions and Response
The closure of the ramp and nearby streets caused significant traffic disruptions in the area. Morrison Bridge remained open in both directions, along with the westbound Morrison Bridge ramp to northbound I-5 and the southbound I-5 ramp onto Morrison Bridge into downtown Portland. Authorities confirmed no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
