Albuquerque, N.M. – A significant incident on Interstate 40 has led to the closure of both eastbound and westbound lanes at separate points, resulting in extensive traffic backups across the city.

Eastbound I-40 is currently closed at Carlisle Avenue, while westbound lanes are shut down at San Mateo Boulevard. The congestion on the eastbound side stretches back to 7th Street, near downtown Albuquerque. On the westbound side, backups extend toward Eubank Boulevard.

The closures have caused substantial delays for commuters and travelers in both directions. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays until further notice.
