When the Mexican Softball League embarked on its inaugural season, it sought to showcase talent from diverse backgrounds. Among the more than 100 players drafted, the spotlight shone particularly bright on two athletes: Dafne Yamilet Bravo and Linnah Alezay Rebolledo, both hailing from Southern California and of Mexican American heritage.

For Bravo, a catcher who grew up in South Los Angeles and honed her skills at Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Rebolledo, a left fielder from Riverside who played for Utah Valley University, the chance to be part of history in the making was a dream come true.
