Anaheim, California – The Anaheim Police Department swiftly responded to a tragic incident at an apartment complex, marking another episode of gun violence in the area.

Investigation into Apparent Murder-Suicide

The Anaheim Police Department is currently investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide case that unfolded at an apartment complex in the 800 block of State College. The incident, which occurred on a Thursday afternoon, left a woman dead and the suspected gunman deceased.

Anaheim PD officers were dispatched to the scene following a report of a shooting around 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 59-year-old Ana Monterrosa suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save her, Monterrosa succumbed to her injuries after being transported to the hospital.

SWAT Team Involvement

In response to the severity of the situation, a SWAT team was deployed to the scene to aid in locating the suspected shooter. The suspect was identified as 67-year-old Brian Lawrence. Authorities determined that Lawrence had returned to his apartment following the shooting, prompting an extensive search operation.

After several hours, law enforcement officers discovered Lawrence’s lifeless body inside his residence. It is believed that he died by suicide, marking a tragic end to the ordeal.
