A man has been charged in connection with the fentanyl-related death of a 16-year-old in Leander, Texas, according to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
Kreli Haynes Arrested for Teen’s Fentanyl Overdose Death
Kreli Haynes was apprehended by US Marshals and the Cedar Park Police Department on a murder warrant issued by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest stems from an incident on December 16, 2023, when deputies responded to an alleged fentanyl overdose in the 2500 block of Socorro Bend in Leander.
Investigation and Additional Charges
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the lifeless body of the 16-year-old victim. Subsequent investigations revealed evidence linking Haynes to the sale of fentanyl, a potent opioid contributing to a nationwide crisis.
In addition to the initial charge of murder, Haynes is now facing further legal action, including charges of Man/Del PG1B 4-200g (fentanyl) and Unlawful Carry.
