Fort Worth police have apprehended a suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred in the bustling West 7th Entertainment District. 22-year-old Joshua Arias Rosales is currently held in Fort Worth jail, facing charges of aggravated assault with a weapon resulting in severe injury. The incident, which took place on March 17, left the victim with a traumatic brain injury or paralysis.

Suspects Sought in Connection with Incident

Police are seeking information from the public regarding five individuals they identify as suspects in the shooting. The altercation, believed to have originated as a verbal dispute escalating into physical violence, culminated in gunfire at the intersection of Bledsoe and Currie Streets.

Photos released by authorities depict individuals allegedly involved in the altercation, with one image showing a suspect brandishing a firearm. The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the shooting.

This incident adds to a series of troubling events in the West 7th District in recent times. Just earlier in March, an argument on nearby Crockett Street led to gunfire, resulting in the tragic death of one individual. Similarly, in September of the previous year, a TCU student fell victim to fatal gun violence in the same vicinity, described by investigators as a ‘random act of violence.’

In light of these incidents, Fort Worth police have intensified their presence in the area. Nightly patrols now consist of over 25 officers, aiming to maintain public safety and prevent further violence.
