The rupture of a 48-inch and 36-inch transmission line has caused water outages and low water pressure throughout the downtown service area. Several key locations have been forced to close their doors, including:

• Grady Memorial Hospital

The Fulton County offices Downtown, including the Fulton County Government Center and Courthouse, have shuttered temporarily. While the Georgia Aquarium assured the public that the outage did not impact the animals, they closed for the day to address the issue. Similarly, Zoo Atlanta closed early due to water pressure concerns but assured the public of contingency plans to provide water for all animals.

Grady Memorial Hospital has also been impacted, with all elective and non-urgent procedures and appointments being canceled for patient safety.
