Long Beach, California – Authorities have apprehended a juvenile in Long Beach following a series of shootings, including one that left a 16-year-old boy injured.

Long Beach police took the boy into custody on Saturday after an early morning incident in the 2400 block of Baltic Avenue. The shooting resulted in the teenage victim sustaining a gunshot wound to the lower body, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers promptly administered medical assistance to the victim until paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived. The injured boy was then transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Suspect Identified in Previous Incidents

Investigations revealed that the arrested juvenile is also linked to several prior shooting incidents, including one on February 27 in the 2300 block of Baltic Avenue, where no injuries were reported.

Following the arrest, LBPD’s SWAT Team executed search warrants in the vicinity of the shootings, leading to the recovery of firearms believed to have been utilized in the recent spate of shootings. Among these incidents, the suspect is also implicated in shootings that occurred on Friday, just hours before the 16-year-old victim was wounded.

Additional Incidents Under Investigation

The boy is suspected of involvement in shootings that took place on Friday night at two separate locations: the 1500 block of West 20th Street and the 2900 block of Webster Avenue. However, authorities have ruled out his involvement in another shooting incident that occurred around 1:10 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Fourth Street, where a man sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound during a confrontation inside a business.

According to police reports, the altercation erupted among a group of men inside the establishment, leading to the victim being approached in a parking lot and subsequently shot by one of the suspects.
