MESA, Ariz. – A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when a six-year-old boy died after falling into water surrounding an apartment complex in Mesa.
Incident Details
At approximately 1:15 p.m. on June 11, Mesa Police officers responded to an emergency call near Baseline and Power roads, reporting a child in the water. Workers at the apartment complex noticed the young boy and promptly pulled him out of the water. Upon arrival, officers found CPR being administered by a bystander and took over until Fire and Medical personnel arrived to continue the life-saving efforts.
Efforts to Save the Child
Despite the swift response and continued CPR, the child was pronounced dead at the hospital around 2 p.m. The parents of the boy reside at the apartment complex, though their whereabouts during the incident remain unclear. Initial findings suggest that this was a tragic accident.
