Four individuals were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard after their vessel overturned near Freeport, Texas, in a dramatic maritime operation on Monday.

The rescue operation was initiated after Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a distress call shortly after 4:45 p.m. from a crew member reporting that their tug and barge had capsized with four individuals onboard.

A Coast Guard Station Freeport 45-foot response boat-Medium crew, along with an HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew from Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi, and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Houston, were deployed as part of the rescue mission.
