Orange County officials issue public alert after 20-year-old violent offender flees facility in Santa Ana.
SANTA ANA, Calif. – Orange County authorities are cautioning residents about a dangerous criminal who has escaped from a halfway house. Identified as Ike Souzer, the 20-year-old is considered extremely violent and poses a threat to the community.
History of Violence
Prosecutors emphasize Souzer’s violent past, which includes the killing of his mother at the age of 13. Despite his young age, Souzer has a troubling history of aggression, having also attacked three correctional officers and been found in possession of a weapon while in jail.
Released on March 20, 2024, after pleading guilty to felony vandalism, Souzer was sentenced to 90 days in county jail. However, he violated the terms of his probation by leaving Project Kinship in Santa Ana without notifying his probation officer.
Previous Escapes
This is not the first time Souzer has evaded authorities. In April 2022, he managed to escape from Project Kinship while under electronic monitoring. Following a widespread search effort, he was located at a homeless encampment in Anaheim and apprehended by the Orange County District Attorney’s AB 109 Task Force.
Public Caution Advised
Given Souzer’s propensity for violence and his history of eluding capture, the public is urged to exercise extreme caution. If spotted, individuals are advised not to approach him but to contact 911 immediately.
Remain Vigilant
The escape of Ike Souzer from a halfway house in Santa Ana is a concerning development for Orange County residents. With a history of violence and prior successful escapes, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings to law enforcement promptly.
