SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department made an arrest following a collision involving a suspected intoxicated driver with a minor passenger.
Collision Details
The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, on the 1600 block of North Hamilton Avenue. A Jeep, driven by an unidentified individual, was traveling southbound when a black Ford Explorer failed to yield the right of way, resulting in a collision.
Consequences of the Collision
The collision caused significant damage, particularly impacting the driver’s side of the Ford Explorer. A teenage passenger in the Jeep, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries, including bodily harm. The exact nature of the injuries has not been disclosed.
Police Response and Charges
Upon arrival, San Antonio police assessed the driver of the Jeep for signs of intoxication. Consequently, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old and endangering a child.

Authorities also evaluated the driver of the Ford Explorer, who remained unidentified. Despite not being intoxicated, the Ford driver received a citation for lacking an operator’s license.
