COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Dublin resident, Blake McMurtrey, is set to appear in court on Wednesday after allegedly firing multiple rounds from inside his apartment. The incident, which occurred on Longshore Street, has garnered attention due to its potentially dangerous implications.
Allegations and Charges
McMurtrey, 40 years old, faces two charges following the incident: improper discharging of a firearm and felony discharging of a firearm. Court documents suggest that McMurtrey engaged in the reckless act while conversing with a police dispatcher, reporting the presence of unknown individuals inside his residence on Monday night.

One of the bullets discharged by McMurtrey struck a vehicle with a child inside, raising concerns about the potential for tragic outcomes. Additionally, two bullets penetrated a neighbor’s bedroom wall, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the gunfire. Further, stray rounds were discovered on the sidewalk along Bridge Park Drive, posing a risk to public safety.
