Tragedy unfolded in Harris County, Texas, as one individual lost their life in a collision involving a semi-truck in the vicinity northwest of Houston over the weekend.
Details of the Incident
On Saturday around 2:50 a.m., Marcus Harper was behind the wheel of a blue Chrysler 200, traveling westbound in the 11600 block of State Highway 249. Reports indicate that Harper veered out of his lane on a divided highway.
Omar Quintos Garcia was operating a 2000 Volvo truck tractor with a 2001 Great Dane trailer, heading eastbound in the same block, accompanied by a truck-mounted forklift. Unfortunately, Harper, traveling westbound in the eastbound lane, collided with Garcia’s truck. The impact caused the front left end of Harper’s vehicle to strike the left side of Garcia’s trailer, leading to the dislodgment of the forklift from the truck.
Emergency responders from HCEC Medic 930 swiftly arrived at the scene, where they pronounced Marcus Harper deceased.
