One person has been confirmed dead following a targeted shooting incident in the Edgehill neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee.
The Incident
According to Metro Police reports, Dtarious Watkins, aged 24, has been charged in connection with the shooting that occurred on Tuesday inside an apartment in Edgehill Homes. Upon responding to the scene, authorities discovered 18-year-old Malachi Rybka, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Suspect’s Actions
Investigations revealed that Watkins traveled from the Napier-Sudekum area to the Edgehill apartment, where he allegedly opened fire on Rybka. Following the incident, Watkins returned to the Napier-Sudekum community and entered a family member’s apartment on Charles E. Davis Boulevard.
Arrest and Recovery
Watkins was apprehended overnight Tuesday and is currently in custody. Upon his arrest, detectives recovered three pistols from the Charles E. Davis Boulevard apartment. Additionally, authorities found clothing believed to have been worn by Watkins during the shooting, which had been set on fire.
