A Fremont Fire Department engine, dispatched to attend to a freeway collision near Andrade Road exit, encountered an unfortunate turn of events as it became the victim of two additional collisions on April 13, 2024.

Series of Incidents

• Initial Collision: The sequence of events began with a freeway collision prompting the dispatch of the fire engine to northbound I-680. The crew responded to tend to an injured individual following the incident around 7 a.m.
• Secondary Collisions: While parked to secure the accident site, the fire engine fell prey to two separate collisions from passing vehicles. These incidents resulted in damage to the engine.

Safety Concerns

Fortunately, the firefighters onboard escaped unscathed from the subsequent collisions. However, one of the drivers involved sustained minor injuries and was subsequently hospitalized, as reported by the fire department.
