In Fresno, California, a disturbing incident unfolded as a man opened fire at a party, leaving five individuals wounded, including a young child.
The Shooting Incident
The turmoil erupted at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the 4400 block of East Hedges Avenue. Authorities responded swiftly to reports of gunfire at a residence.
Victims of the Shooting
Among those injured were a 5-year-old child, a 17-year-old boy, and a 27-year-old woman. The child, critically wounded, had already been rushed to the hospital by the time law enforcement arrived. The remaining victims were promptly transported to Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) for treatment.
Arrests and Allegations
Investigations led to the arrest of 39-year-old Juvenal Espinoza, who was implicated in the incident and charged with felony conspiracy. Further inquiries revealed that a confrontation at the party involving Juvenal Espinoza and his brothers, notably 41-year-old Angel Espinoza, escalated into violence. Angel Espinoza brandished a handgun and indiscriminately fired into the gathering, causing injuries not only to the initial three victims but also accidentally harming his own brothers.
Ongoing Investigation
While Juvenal Espinoza received treatment for a gunshot wound to his wrist and faces charges, Angel Espinoza remains at large, wanted for five counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon.
