Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) firefighters rushed to the scene at 1001 E. 27th St. near Central Avenue, responding to reports of flames engulfing the vacant church.

LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange reported that the crews faced challenges including partial collapses as they battled the inferno. It took a total of 66 firefighters a grueling 38 minutes to extinguish the intense flames, preventing further damage to surrounding properties. Miraculously, no injuries were reported, sparing the community from potential tragedy.
