Kentucky State Police (KSP) have escalated efforts in the search for Miya Rudd, an 8-month-old infant reported missing from Ohio County. The investigation has led to a series of arrests involving family members and a comprehensive search operation near the family’s residence.
Arrests and Search at Maternal Grandparents’ Home
On Leitchfield Road in Owensboro, KSP executed a search warrant at the residence of Taletha and David Tucker, Miya’s maternal grandparents. Although Miya was not found at the premises, authorities discovered baby items and confiscated electronic devices. Taletha Tucker, 50, was arrested due to an outstanding warrant from Indiana, while David Tucker, 53, faced charges from Daviess County, Kentucky. Both individuals are currently detained at the Daviess County Detention Center.
Removal of Older Siblings and Background

Tesla Tucker, 29, and Cage Rudd, 30, Miya’s parents, had previously been arrested on charges including drug possession, child abuse, and minor abandonment.
Paternal Grandparents’ Involvement
Police also apprehended Miya’s paternal grandparents, Billie J. Smith and Ricky Smith. Billie Smith was arrested for a domestic violence-related warrant, while Ricky Smith faces charges of minor abandonment and drug offenses.
Intensive Search Efforts
The search for Miya Rudd has involved extensive resources, including the deployment of cadaver dogs across approximately ten locations near the family’s residence. KSP remains focused on locating the missing child as the investigation unfolds.
