Incident Overview
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In a tragic incident earlier this year, LilDon Williams, 32, was ambushed and killed at Caesars Southern Indiana Casino. The fatal shooting took place in the casino’s parking garage during the early morning hours of March 17, 2024. Williams was followed to the location by two suspects, who then waited for an opportunity to carry out the attack.
The Ambush
Investigators revealed that Antwaun Proctor and an unidentified accomplice followed Williams in a dark-colored 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. They waited in the parking lot for three hours. As Williams was leaving, two masked men approached his car and opened fire, using rifles. Williams was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
Post-Ambush Actions
After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene in two separate vehicles. One suspect drove off in the Malibu, while the other took Williams’ silver and black 2013 Dodge Charger. Surveillance footage captured the stolen car at Shorty’s Marathon gas station within an hour of the incident. Williams’ cellphone was later found at Victory Park in Louisville.
Investigation and Arrest
The investigation was aided significantly by Louisville Metro’s collaboration with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department. Flock Cameras identified the Malibu, leading authorities to one of Proctor’s family members, who was not implicated in the case. Phone records subsequently pointed investigators to Proctor. He was arrested on April 24 and faces multiple charges, including murder, robbery, auto theft, obstruction of justice, and criminal mischief. Proctor remains in custody without bond and is scheduled to appear in court in June. The second suspect is still at large, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office at 812-738-3911.
Community Impact
The death of LilDon Williams has left a significant impact on his family and the Louisville community. Williams, remembered by his wife, Rannisha, as a good man and father, did not deserve such a tragic end. The community continues to seek justice and closure for his untimely death.
