A Madison woman faced charges of operating while intoxicated (OWI) following a crash in Waukesha County on Wednesday night, June 5. The incident occurred on I-94 near Brookfield Road around 11:30 p.m.
Crash Details
Authorities reported that the 33-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was driving with two children under the age of 16 when the accident transpired. She collided with a guardrail, causing her vehicle to come to a halt in the traffic lanes, where it was subsequently struck by an oncoming vehicle. The collision resulted in damage to both vehicles and injuries to the other driver.
Arrest and Charges
Upon arrival at the scene, a state trooper observed signs of impairment in the woman and proceeded to conduct field sobriety tests. Subsequently, she was arrested for OWI. Following her arrest, she was transported to a nearby hospital for an evidentiary blood draw to determine her blood alcohol content (BAC).
