A man is behind bars following a dramatic police chase that originated in Tulsa and spanned across county lines, culminating in his capture nearly an hour and a half later.
Multi-Agency Effort
The pursuit involved multiple law enforcement agencies, underscoring the collaborative effort to apprehend the suspect. 39-year-old Randolph White was ultimately taken into custody after the lengthy chase.
Tulsa Police Spot Stolen Vehicle
The incident began when Tulsa Police officers observed a stolen Tahoe in the vicinity of 56th Street North and Peoria around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The driver, later identified as Randolph White, initially refused to stop but slowed down to allow a passenger to exit before accelerating onto Highway 75.
High-Speed Chase
White evaded attempts to pull him over, prompting officers to initiate a high-speed pursuit. Despite efforts by law enforcement to stop the fleeing vehicle, White continued to evade capture. Witnesses reported the involvement of a Tulsa Police Department helicopter, indicating the intensity of the pursuit.
Pursuit Outside Tulsa
The chase extended beyond Tulsa city limits, with additional agencies joining the effort to apprehend White. Stinger devices were deployed in an attempt to halt the stolen SUV, which ultimately spun out near 320 Road and 4240 Road.
Capture and Charges
Rogers County authorities, along with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, successfully apprehended White approximately ninety minutes after the chase commenced. He was subsequently booked on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding law enforcement.
Passenger Arrested
Additionally, Tulsa Police arrested a passenger involved in the incident, charging them with joyriding.
