A tragic incident unfolded on Chicago’s West Side early Sunday morning, as a 19-year-old woman lost her life and four others sustained injuries in a mass shooting at a business establishment. According to Chicago police, the harrowing event occurred around 1 a.m. within the vicinity of the 5300 block of West Madison Street.

Reports indicate that the victims were inside the business when an unidentified assailant opened fire on a group of individuals. Tragically, the 19-year-old victim succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Among the injured were two teenage girls, aged 16 and 17, who were rushed to Stroger Hospital for medical treatment. The 17-year-old remains in critical condition with a gunshot wound to her right leg, while the 16-year-old is reported to be in stable condition despite sustaining a gunshot wound to her foot.

Additionally, a 20-year-old woman suffered gunshot wounds to her left leg and face, receiving medical attention at Rush Hospital and currently listed in stable condition. Another 19-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to her ankle and was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where her condition is reported as stable.

As of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the shooting. Area Four Detectives have taken charge of the investigation, diligently working to unravel the circumstances surrounding this senseless act of violence.
