HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Lakesha Woods Williams, a 29-year-old mother from Harris County, is facing child endangerment charges after allegedly leaving her two young children alone for several days.
Abandoned in High-Rise Apartment
On April 4, Williams reportedly left her six and eight-year-old children alone in their high-rise apartment located in the 9700 block of the Katy Freeway, according to statements from Harris County Constable Precinct 5.
Discovery by Authorities
The situation came to light when Harris County deputies arrived at the apartment on April 9 and found the children unsupervised. The children informed the deputies that their mother had gone on a cruise. Concerned for their welfare, authorities called paramedics and Child Protective Services to assess the children’s condition.
Arrest and Charges
Williams returned to the apartment on April 10, but her arrival led to her subsequent arrest on April 11 after deputies conducted a follow-up welfare check. She now faces two counts of child endangerment.
