NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville’s Metro Animal Care and Control (MACC) is addressing space limitations by implementing a Cicada Special, waiving adoption fees for pets until the end of the month.

Addressing High Pet Population

MACC is currently facing challenges due to an extremely high number of pets in their care, resulting in space constraints. The center has temporarily suspended accepting owner surrenders until additional space can be made available.

MACC Director’s Statement

In response to the situation, MACC Director Ashley Harrington emphasized the benefits of pet adoption, stating, Adopting a pet from MACC gives you a terrific companion for years to come, and in the near-term they can help distract you from the sound of the cicadas.

Adoption Process and Location

All pets available for adoption through MACC are spayed or neutered and receive vaccinations. The center, located at 5125 Harding Place, operates from 12-4 pm. Interested individuals can contact MACC via email at [email protected] or by calling 615-862-4017.
