According to court records, the incident involved a red Kia Sportage traveling in the wrong direction, which collided nearly head-on with a white Ford Fusion on Interstate 80.
Victims Identified
Among the occupants of the Ford Fusion, 26-year-old Ross Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver succumbed to injuries after being transported to the hospital. Another passenger, 30-year-old Kyle Arnold, sustained critical, life-threatening injuries, and a front-seat passenger suffered serious chest injuries.
Suspect’s Condition
The driver of the Kia Sportage, identified as Maison King, sustained serious injuries and was also hospitalized.
Legal Ramifications
The court documents revealed that King’s breathalyzer test indicated he was twice the legal limit for alcohol consumption at the time of the crash. Consequently, King is facing two counts of motor vehicle homicide and one count of driving under the influence (DUI) causing serious bodily injury. He was held on a $50,000 bond, and his next court appearance is scheduled for early June.
