The victim, identified as a licensed firearm carrier, promptly returned fire as the Nissan fled down Old York Road. Despite being struck once in the stomach, the victim’s quick response likely prevented further harm.
Targeted Robbery
Authorities suspect that the victims, who were employees of a Willow Grove-based ATM company, were transporting a substantial amount of cash – approximately $100,000. The nature of the attack suggests it was a targeted robbery attempt gone awry.
Victim’s Condition
The 31-year-old driver, critically wounded in the shooting, was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, the passenger in the victim’s vehicle escaped unharmed.
