AUSTIN, Texas — Five individuals are in custody after a pursuit in Pflugerville Sunday morning, involving a stolen vehicle and shots fired towards police.
Stolen Vehicle Sparks Chase
Pflugerville Police Department officers discovered a stolen vehicle with five occupants around 4:40 a.m. on Sunday. Upon attempting a traffic stop, the vehicle fled, prompting a pursuit.
Chase Ends in Subdivision
The pursuit concluded in the Hidden Lakes Subdivision. While two suspects were apprehended immediately, three others fled on foot.
Shots Fired, No Injuries Reported
Amidst the foot chase, one suspect discharged multiple shots toward police, prompting an officer to return fire. Fortunately, no injuries occurred during the incident.
Assistance from Multiple Agencies
Authorities, including the Round Rock Police Department and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, aided in the arrests. The Texas Rangers are overseeing the investigation due to the officer’s weapon discharge.
