In a heartwarming gesture, MechaniCool LLC of Queen Creek, in collaboration with General Metals Mfg. & Supply, presented Sandra McPherson, a widow residing in Mesa, with a brand new heating and air-conditioning system. The unusual revelation occurred on January 4, following McPherson’s karaoke performance at the Duchess Bar & Grille in East Mesa.

Unveiling the Gift

Sandra McPherson, the karaoke host at the Duchess Bar & Grille, received an unexpected surprise from MechaniCool owners Jamie and Robert Geng and General Metals. Initially anticipating a joint performance with Jamie, McPherson was taken aback when Jamie announced the generous gift to her and the patrons. The revelation unfolded with the announcement that General Metals would be providing a new HVAC unit, and MechaniCool would handle the installation free of charge.

A History of Loyalty

Clinton Chatfield, development manager for MechaniCool LLC, shared that McPherson had been a loyal customer for approximately seven years. Tragically, McPherson lost her husband to COVID, compounding the challenges she faced. In October, she had informed the Gengs that her air conditioning system was malfunctioning, causing the temperature in her manufactured home to soar to 91 degrees.

Addressing Immediate Needs

Recognizing McPherson’s predicament, MechaniCool made temporary repairs to the unit to keep it operational for a month. Chatfield explained that while the patch provided a short-term solution, the extensive repairs required, and the financial constraints McPherson faced, necessitated the replacement of the entire HVAC unit.

A Touching Surprise

On the night of the surprise announcement, a crowd, including MechaniCool owners Jamie and Robert Geng, their son Nick, and General Metals Mfg. & Supply’s regional manager Jeremiah Gunderson, gathered to witness McPherson’s emotional reaction. MechaniCool technicians Tyrone Williams and Ben Rodarte were also present.

Overwhelmed with Emotion

Chatfield described McPherson’s reaction as one of disbelief, tears, and shock. The emotional moment saw hugs exchanged between McPherson and the MechaniCool owners. The new HVAC unit arrived at McPherson’s home the following week, just in time for the cold weather, allowing MechaniCool to restore her heating promptly.

A Flawless Installation and Heartfelt Commitment

Chatfield emphasized the seamless installation process, expressing gratitude for being part of a company with selfless individuals dedicated to their customers and community. The gesture not only provided McPherson with a much-needed HVAC system but also showcased the compassionate and community-oriented values of MechaniCool LLC and General Metals Mfg. & Supply.
