COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Stay Weather Aware for the next several days as a series of storms moves through the region. Some storms may become strong to severe, and heavy rain may cause flooding concerns.

  • Monday: mostly cloudy, showers and storms in the afternoon and evening, some strong storms, high 63.
  • Tuesday: showers and storms in multiple waves throughout the day, some strong storms especially in the afternoon and evening, high 66.
  • Wednesday: overcast, rain and showers, occasional downpours, much cooler, high 47.
  • Thursday: wintry mix in the morning becoming rain showers in the afternoon, high 45.
  • Friday: rain retreating early, gradual clearing, cool, high 49.
  • Saturday: mostly sunny, high 54.
  • Sunday: mostly sunny, high 60.

Flood Watch and Potential Impacts

A FLOOD WATCH goes into effect across most of Central and Southern Ohio on Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening as strong storms move through the region with rain heavy at times. In some areas, rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible. Runoff may cause flooding along rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying areas. Be #WeatherAware and avoid wading or driving through flooded areas.

Forecast Details

As several lows slide through the region on Monday and Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms remain a high probability. The Storm Prediction Center’s Marginal Risk continues for wind and hail but adds a small chance for isolated tornadoes for Monday. The risk increases to Slight/Enhanced on Tuesday as the atmosphere becomes even more unstable. The chance for wind, hail, and tornadoes increases. We will need to remain vigilant and #WeatherAware through late Tuesday night.
